What to Expect
Your First 30 Days with Kent & Brandy
The first 30 days are designed around one objective: developing a thorough understanding of your organization so we can assume responsibility for its technology thoughtfully and effectively. We do not begin with a predetermined technology stack, a catalog of products, or a list of changes we believe you should make. We begin by understanding how your organization operates, how technology supports that work, what is performing well, and where gaps, risks, or inefficiencies may exist.
By the end of the first 30 days, you should have a clearer understanding of your technology environment, the areas that warrant attention, and how Kent & Brandy will help move the organization forward.
Days 1–5
Understand the Organization
We begin with the business, not the technology.
Your principal advisor works with the staff responsible for the organization to understand how the business operates, where technology fits into that operation, and what prompted you to engage Kent & Brandy.
We establish a working understanding of:

- 02The technology and systems your team relies on every day
- 03Current technology responsibilities and ownership
- 04Internal resources, IT providers, consultants, and vendors
- 05Current priorities, upcoming initiatives, and organizational changes

This context allows us to evaluate the environment intelligently rather than making recommendations in isolation.
Days 5–15
Understand the Technology Environment
Once we understand the business, we begin examining the technology that supports it.
Depending on your environment and the scope of our engagement, this may include infrastructure, devices, networks, cloud services, business applications, identity and access, cybersecurity controls, vendors, contracts, technology processes, and existing documentation.
The objective is not to create a list of problems for the sake of creating a list. It is to understand the environment well enough to distinguish what matters now, what can wait, and what deserves attention before it becomes a larger problem.
Days 15–25
Establish Priorities
With the environment understood, we begin translating our findings into decisions.
We identify the areas with the greatest potential impact on the organization and establish an initial set of priorities. These may include cybersecurity, infrastructure, business systems, vendor management, technology costs, modernization, automation, hardware, documentation, or operational processes.
Each priority is evaluated through three considerations:
Business impact
How does this affect the organization's ability to operate, serve its stakeholders, and grow?
Risk and urgency
What are the potential consequences of leaving the issue unresolved?
Investment and practicality
What will it take to address the issue, and is now the right time to do so?
This keeps the relationship from becoming an endless technology checklist. Instead, we establish a practical direction based on the organization's objectives, resources, and operating realities.
Days 25–30
Establish Your Technology Department
By the end of the first month, Kent & Brandy begins moving from understanding the environment to taking responsibility for it.
We establish how the relationship will operate, clarify responsibilities, define how requests and projects will be managed, establish vendor coordination, and determine how leadership will remain informed.
You receive an initial view of:

Where appropriate, this becomes the foundation for your Technology Responsibility Profile, Technology Department Blueprint, and 12-Month Roadmap.
What You Should Have After 30 Days
You should not finish your first month wondering what your technology provider is actually doing.
You should know who is responsible for your technology, the condition of the environment, what deserves attention, what can wait, and where the organization is headed.
More importantly, Kent & Brandy should have enough understanding of your organization to operate as a technology partner rather than simply another vendor waiting for something to break.
